This non-profit center is actually a combination of two of Denver’s oldest and most-established photographic organizations, the Community Partnership for Arts and Culture (CPAC) and Working With Artists. This new studio is home to many exhibitions featuring contemporary photography by some incredibly talented photographers. Their gallery often brings thought-provoking art that is sure to spark discussion. They have three galleries and host 17 different exhibitions annually, while featuring both new and established artists. If you are a fan of contemporary photography, then be sure to check them out.

Ironton Studios is a very unique and creative space in Denver. They have 13 studios, a sculpture garden and a beautiful gallery all located in the popular River North Art District. Ironton has 10 openings every year and they feature many different types of art including contemporary photography. Ironton is an absolute must for any fan of photography and modern art, so be sure to stop by this intriguing gallery to see them for yourself.

Denver Photo Art Gallery is another popular gallery located in the heart of the Santa Fe Art District. They focus completely on fine-art photography, featuring both local and national artists. They have a two-month, rotating exhibit schedule and also feature many artists online. Of course, prints can be purchased at the gallery as well. In May of 2012, they will be featuring “10 Years of Red Rocks Music” with photos by artist Soren McCarty. This exhibit will feature all of the great musicians and talent that has been through the Red Rocks Amphitheater as seen through McCarty’s lens.

John Fielder is a very well-known nature photographer. His photos of Colorado and the Rocky Mountains have garnered him national attention. Winning the Sierra Club’s Ansel Adams Award, he’s been seen on national television and his photography books have been hugely popular bestsellers. His main Denver gallery is located in the Santa Fe Arts District, housing more than 100 of his famous and beautiful images. They have a full book department as well, featuring most of his titles already autographed. If you are a fan of John Fielder’s work, of nature photography or of photography in general, then this artist is a must see.
